Central are the Three Universal Human Parts and the understanding that much of our emotional pain often arises from the dominance of either ‘threat’ or ‘reward’ at the expense of ‘connection’.   

Threat can be the place both of ‘over-arousal’ and therefore fear and/or anger, or ‘under-arousal’ and so feeling switched-off and disconnected. In reward, we’re often driven to seek refuge in quick-fix behaviours that don’t serve us - the place of addictions and dependencies.
